Júlía Sif Jónsdóttir
My name is Júlía Sif Jónsdóttir. I am a 19-year-old photography student in Technical College of Iceland. I’ve loved photography since before I learned how to walk.
I would steal my mother’s camera and take pictures of every single thing I could see. My father helped me look for schools that I could apply for. My father then went missing abroad, that reminded me how much photographs mean to me. I want to be able to capture beautiful moments for others as well as my family to keep with us our whole lives.
My concept was always keeping the face out of sight. I thought that it was some sort of uncertainty not seeing someone’s face because we always want to connect a name with a face. So that was the concept I stuck with for this assignment.
