“On the Edge”
This photo project tells the story of Spartak, an artist who was forced to become a refugee four times.
He was born in Baku, an Armenian by birth, from where his family fled during the persecution of Armenians.
Then came Armenia, which he was forced to leave due to the economic crisis and the outbreak of the Karabakh War.
Then came Ukraine and a new war.
The photographs were taken on the border between Italy and Slovenia, where the artist’s exhibition was held.
The tunnel, movement, and stepping along the line are symbols of an endless journey, a search for home and self.
A red line connects the frames — a trace of exile, memory, and the strength that allows one to live on.
