To Belong

My work explores the theme through photographs I made of abandoned structures and objects in the beautiful landscape of Iceland. The idea with these photographs is to show how man made objects that initially clashed with their surroundings get reclaimed by nature through the slow process of decay. From rusting metals, cracked concrete and weathered wood we get to see this gradual deterioration of things and how nature will always reclaim what  once belonged to her. My photographs happened to all be made in old mines found close to the capital area of Reykjavik.
