Stig Hansen
Hi, my name is Stig Hansen; I’m a media student at Prakticum in Borgå, Finland. I was born in and lived in Germany until I moved to my family’s roots near Helsinki, at 26.
I started taking photos when I was 18 and immersed myself in film photography and development. While working in a variety of formats, I’m naturally drawn to small cameras with wide lenses that integrate the subject in a physical context.
Themes in my photography include feelings of alienness and isolation from personal trauma. Photography forces me to be in the present — In my photos strive for a sort of documentary mindfulness and humility before the moment.
