Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson
My name is Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson and I’m a 41 year old photography student at The School of Information Technology, Technical school of Reykjavík.
My take on the New Horizon theme was to look at the daily shifts between mask and no mask. This has become a huge part in our daily lives and a frequent discussion, especially early in the pandemic when the mandates shifted a lot. Pro mask or not, this has been talked about often and everyone has been affected. This series is about looking forward to a brighter time, a new horizon for everyone when we can see each other’s smiling faces again.
In the future I’d like to have my own studio – it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to build a successful business that revolves around photography.

Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson
Hello everyone, my name is Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson and I am a 41 year old photography student at The School of Information Technology, Technical school of Reykjavík.
My last semester there will be this spring. I am born and raised in Iceland where I have lived most of my life. I love this country for the many things it has to offer. I have been taking photography seriously for some years and always felt it appealing to work as a photographer full time, so when the opportunity came to go to school for photography I grabbed it.
What I see in my future is to finish my study in photography and then hopefully start my own studio. It has long been my dream to build a successful business that revolves around photography.
